Aomori Spring Resort, Northern Honshu, Japan, is a unique ski and snowboard freestyle facility unlike anywhere else in Asia. We offer a 22ft Olympic halfpipe, extensive terrain park facilities and the opportunity to ride pristine, dry powder.
On 10-12 February 2017, Aomori Spring presents an awesome opportunity for snowboarders of all levels to train with Snowboard Olympians, Canada’s Katie Tsuyuki and Japan’s Kohei Kudo. This is a chance to hone your snowboard skills and learn from the best!
Choose between either a two or three day programme, in English or Japanese. Riders will be grouped according to learning goals and riding ability.
Camp Programme
Friday (optional)
10am-4pm: Park & pipe skills clinic with our Olympians and specialised freestyle coaches
7pm: Mix and mingle evening – meet and chat with the Olympians and coaches in a relaxed setting. Pick up your goodie bag!
Saturday
10am-4pm: Park & pipe skills clinic with Olympians and coaches, either building on what you learnt in day one, or based on your specific goals or skills.
7pm: Evening ‘Ted Talk’ – Katie Tsuyuki will present a talk (topic to be confirmed).
Sunday
10am-4pm: You choose! Either participate in a fun Boardercross event hosted by Aomori Spring Resort with coaching throughout the event; OR continue your training with the coaches in another park & park session.
Achievement certificates with written feedback and suggested training goals from the coaches will be awarded.
Camp Pricing
Coaching programme, including lunch (lift passes sold separately):
– Two day programme (Saturday/Sunday) ¥25,000
– Three day programme (Friday-Sunday) ¥33,000
Other Dates by Arrangement

Stay On-Mountain Option
Riders (and accompanying friends or family) can stay right on the mountain with this special accommodation package:
-Stay at the ski-in, ski-out Rockwood Hotel & Spa (twin or triple share).
-Lift passes for skiing/riding at Aomori Spring Resort, including night riding.
-Buffet breakfast including a large selection of Western and Japanese cuisine.
-Buffet dinner at Rockwood Hall.
-Access to the natural indoor-outdoor hot spring onsen and gym equipment.
-Complimentary transfers to/from Hirosaki or Aomori city airport or train station (advanced booking required).
Accommodation Package Pricing
¥15,150 per adult / ¥12,150 per child (12 years and under), per night, based on twin or triple share rooms.
About Katie Tsuyuki
Katie is an outstanding snowboard athlete and a seasoned Olympian having competed in the Vancouver and Sochi Winter Olympics. She placed as the highest ranking Canadian in Snowboard Halfpipe at Sochi. In addition, she is a coach, mentor, motivational speaker, and marketing consultant. Read more about her at KTathletics.com.
About Kohei Kudo
Coming from Sapporo, Kohei Kudo has spent many years competing in the halfpipe including the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. Kohei now films snowboarding movies with the STOMP crew, featuring the famous Kazu Kokubo, and coaches at the Novel Mountain Park. This dynamic rider is known for his massive airs in the pipe and on jumps, as well as his nimble style while slashing powder on the mountain.
Getting to Aomori Spring
Getting to Aomori Spring resort is easy! Fly to Aomori city from Haneda airport, Tokyo or Seoul, South Korea; or take the 3 hour Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo. Pick up from Hirosaki train station or Aomori city train station or airport is included with the accommodation package.
